Bit of a do.
Sorry for the long absence of posts. I’ve been putting a lot of time and energy into other projects this year.
It seems we are to have a Christmas fair in Queens Rd. and I have reproduced the two sides of the flyer here, which are self explanatory. Hopefully the idea will be embraced by all and the sun will shine. I wonder if it will be anything like one in Spain where tempting local nibbles were on offer. Try one, salivate, then buy. I hope so.
It is most uncharacteristic, but I have just attended a meeting! 18 of us sat around a table in the Christchurch Meeting Rooms to make suggestions to Councillor Patrick Kitterick , who had a lot of good plans already, about what would make the event successful.
One of the best was that it should carry on after the planned 5.00 pm finish and migrate to a bar with live music and lots of beer! All those in favour.......

The thing about Johnny Foreigner's markets is that a whole host of local peasants turn up to flog startling home-made cheeses, fabulous dried hams that were smoked up the kitchen chimney, odd-shaped veggies that taste like heaven......and we have Premier Foods and Ginsters!
In this respect, I have fond memories of a trip to Arles and less good memories of a visit to Sandringham Food and Craft Fair where it was all much as I could buy in Tesco. Sadly, our peasants seem to think that food creation is all a bit beneath them these days - they are now agronomists supplying supermarkets.
Walkers are offering free crisps!
Hi,
I was thinking of moving into this area and wondered if you could tell me how noisy it is? I'm thinking of living on Bulwer street and just wondered?
Also, do you know what they are planning to build on that fenced off site on Queen's road?
Cheers for any info.
Hi ghghgh, Not too noisy on Bulwer Rd. Well away from the bars - just the chip shop. It looks like houses on the fenced off area. One has gone up already. My guess more to follow. Not a bad thing. More people to buy a round.
I really looking forward to it. Just hope the weather is good!
The email address on the flyer is not correct. I have tried the phone number too and have had no response. Is anybody aware of the correct contact details? I would like a stall at the event and cant seem to find the correct details to contact anyone. Thanks
There is another meeting on 9th November in the Christchurch Meeting Rooms, Clarendon Park Rd. 7.00 pm. Pop along!
Thanks. I finally got through to Patrick and am very pleased to be having a stall at the fair
Are you going to run a stall Tobe?
